A sculptor carving words, kneading light.
Hi,
I’m Kan, a craftsman living in a small village of Kochi, Japan.
with eyes closed is an ongoing project that gathers quiet acts of attention, both found and made.
In this ongoing body of work, fragments of words and light are treated as tangible material, shaped and sculpted.
Whether observed or shaped, all of these pieces begin with the same impulse: to invite a quiet kind of seeing, the kind that happens best with eyes closed.
