来て下さってどうもありがとうございました。もう一度アイデアとそれをどう見せるかを練り直す必要がありそうです。

President’s hunger strike.

The people come first. The country comes first. Later come the interests of the regions and sectors. I send a true greeting to those comrades who are defending democracy, the people’s vote, the people’s vote from outside the country, and other demands of a structural nature through this effort they make, through this hunger strike.

Evo Morales on the fifth day of his hunger strike in La Paz.

Evo Morales, the Bolivia’s first indigenous president, has ended his five-day hunger strike after Bolivia’s congress approved a new election law.

The law permits Morales to stand again for election on December 6, reserves 14 congressional seats for indigenous candidates and permits expatriates to vote. The measure would increase representation for low-income rural areas.

Untill now I’ve found not much informations about the influence of his action on next election. But so far I support his attitude of fighting for democracy.  I’ll keep taking notice of the trend of Bolivia.

人々と土地が先に来るのであって地区や区域の利益はその後です。この断食ストライキを通して、民主主義や人々の選挙権と国外からの投票権、そしてその他の構造的性質の要求を擁護している同志達にエールを送りたいと思います。

ボリビア国会が新しい選挙法を承認した事を受け、同国初の先住民出身のエボ・モラレス大統領は5日間に渡る断食ストライキを終えました。

この法律によりモラレス大統領の12月6日に行われる大統領選への再出馬と先住民議員に対する14の議席の保証、さらには国外居住者の海外からの投票が認められ、この措置により国政における地方低所得者層の主張の存在感が増す事となります。

僕は現時点では次の大統領選におけるモラレス大統領の今回の行動の影響についての情報はまだ多くは得られていませんが、彼の民主主義の為に闘う姿勢は支持します。今後のボリビアの動向に注目して行きたいと思います。

Human Rights Watch opens their Tokyo office.

On 9. April, Human Rights Watch relessed at a news conference to open its Tokyo Office a letter to Prime Minister Taro Aso, urging the Japanese government to press Burma’s military government to free political prisoners, hold free and fair elections, end rampant torture, and stop attacks on ethnic minorities.

We, as japanese citizen, all should read this letter and think over our position and role as a member of Asia and the world. Japanese government’s diplomacy is based on our ignorance and indifference to the world’s current situaton. This letter is not only to the Prime Minister at all but to all of us who are responsible for approving the policy of the government.

4月9日、ヒューマン・ライツ・ウォッチは東京オフィス開設にあたって開かれた記者会見にて麻生太郎首相に宛てた書簡を公表し、ビルマ軍事政権に対して、政治囚の釈放、自由・公正な選挙の施行、蔓延する拷問をやめること、少数民族に対する攻撃の中止を働きかけるよう、日本政府に強く求めました。

日本国民として僕達の全てがこの書簡を読み、アジアと世界における日本の位置と役割を考え直さなければなりません。日本政府の外交は僕達日本人の現在の世界の状況に対する無知と無関心に基づくものです。この手紙は首相だけに宛てられたものでは決して無く、日本政府の政策を容認している僕達全ての日本国民に宛てられているのです。
